A. Lucian Ward, Jr., age 87, of Cumming, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013. A.L. was born on December 13, 1925 in Knoxville, TN and graduated High School from Knoxville High in 1943. After High School during WWII, he participated in ASTP at North Carolina State. In 1945, he married his loving wife Kathleen Mynatt. He then spent 2 years at University of Tennessee and in 1964 received a BBA degree from Georgia State University. A.L. worked for Oscar Mayer for over 40 years, 20 of which he spent as the Sales Manager in Miami, FL. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cumming, and the Unity Class. He loved to travel, visiting all 48 contiguous states and was active in senior golf at Lanier Golf Club. A.L. was a Georgia Mountaineer and a member of the Winnebago Motor Home Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Kathleen "Teenie" Ward; daughters and son-in-law, Donna (Bob) O'Callaghan, Linda Touchton; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ruth Walker; lifelong friend, Roy Hall and numerous other loving friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Jolly and Rev. Derry Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Knoxville, TN at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Saturday. The family will receive friends at Lynnhurst Greenwood Chapel, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and a graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Cemetery.
