Albert Gallucci

Albert Gallucci, 86, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully on December 8, 2021.

He was the beloved husband of Ann (Burdick) and the son of the late John and Angelina (Perretta) Gallucci. He resided in West Warwick, RI and S. Palm Beach, FL for most of his life.

Albert always loved playing the clarinet. His first band instructor Townley Bowser encouraged his love of music at John F. Deering High School. Upon graduation in 1953, Albert joined the United States Navy and studied music at the Naval School of Music in Washington, D.C. After 4 years in the Navy, he auditioned for and was selected to play clarinet for the United States Army Field Band.

As a member of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Field Bands he performed in 49 of the 50 states including a 9 day tour of the newest state Alaska and Canada. He enjoyed travelling and playing for U.S. Presidents and visiting dignitaries. His favorite march to play was John Philip Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever. As much as he loved performing, he loved seeing the United States especially the Badlands, Pikes Peak and Mount Rushmore. He was fortunate to spend this time with fellow musicians who became lifelong friends that he treasured.

When he wasn't performing music, Albert enjoyed bowling, playing baseball and basketball and golfing.

After leaving the U.S. Army Field Band, Albert considered joining the United States Marine Corps Band. He was working at Davisville as a computer operator when he met Ann and decided to get married. It was a good decision because they were happily married for 55 years. They had two children Barbara and Steven.

Albert enjoyed his job at John Hancock where he worked as an insurance agent for many years. Albert and Ann retired to S. Palm Beach, Florida.
Albert loved working in the yard and growing flowers, going to the casino and eating macaroni and meatballs every Sunday. Albert made friends wherever he went especially when he wore his U.S. Army Field Band hat to the store. People would stop to ask him about his time in the band and he enjoyed talking to everyone. He was very proud of his time in the service and his family. He will be greatly missed.

Albert is survived by his wife Ann, a daughter Barbara and husband Dave, a son Steven and his wife Anne, 3 grandchildren Max and Jack Moroknek and Natalia Gallucci and 2 brothers - his twin, Alfred Gallucci of Delray Beach, FL and William Gallucci, Chief West Warwick Police Dept. (Ret.) of West Warwick, RI. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank, John and Lindy Gallucci and Norma Messier.

The funeral will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA. Arrangements by Ingram Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
