Albert Williams

Albert “Al” Williams gained his angel wings on Tuesday, April 11th.

After years of declining health, Al, passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 11th.  He was born to Albert and Grace Williams on February 26, 1952, in Mansfield, Ohio.  He grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  In 1986, he met his soulmate and moved to Forsyth County where he resided with his wife of 33 years.  He worked as the water superintendent in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia for 20 years prior to moving to Forsyth County.  He retired from Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department in 2019. Where he served as the superintendent for 23 years.  

He loved his family and the Tennessee Volunteers.  Most of all he cherished his grandchildren.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandsons play sports. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sheila (Bagwell) Williams, son Shane (Paige) Tompkins, daughters, Sonya (Joey) Elzey, Casey (Cody) Smith, grandchildren Samuel and Eli Tompkins, Ethan and Cooper Elzey, Hannah McConnell, Emily Jordan and Autumn Smith, as well as special friends, Breanna Helms and Lindsey Head.  Brother-in-law, Wendell (Deloris) Bagwell, Niece, Alison (TJ) Smith. Nephew, Josh Bagwell.  

The family will greet visitors on Thursday, April 13th from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm and 5:00 – 8:00 pm and from 12:00 pm until time of service on Friday, April 14th.  The service is Friday, April 14that 4:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel, entombment to follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

Those wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers please make a donation to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  

The family would like to thank all the staff at Northside Forsyth PCU for their care and compassion during the last two weeks.
