Alberta D. Pappas, age 88 of Sugar Hill, GA, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012. Alberta was born November 26, 1923 in Union, NJ and moved to Syracuse, NY at the age of 12 years old. It was there she met her beloved husband of 57 years, Gus Pappas. Alberta and Gus have lived in Georgia for the past 8 years. A devoted Greek Orthodox, she has taught Sunday School at a number of churches. She was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother known for never saying anything bad about anyone. Survivors include her husband, Gus Pappas of Sugar Hill; a daughter and her husband, Susan Pappas and Greg Foster of OK; a son and his wife, Nick and Monica Pappas of Suwanee, GA and her loving grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucas, Chesne, Ashley and Brandy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3rd at 10:00 am at Saints Raphael Nicholas and Irene Greek Orthodox Church with Father Barnabas Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday from7:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Trisagion at 7:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Greek Orthodox Church, 3074 Bethelview Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
