Alfred Gene Garrett

Alfred Gene Garrett age 78, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

Alfred was a member of Concord Baptist Church for almost 40 years. He owned and operated AS Trucking Co. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carnace and Louvena Ingram Garrett; son, Alfred Gene Garrett, II and his brother, Carroll Garrett.

Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sandra Little Garrett of Cumming; daughters, Rebecca Ann Hyde of Cumming and Elizabeth Jane Herron of Cumming; grandchildren, James Walter and (Terah) Blackwell, Justin Lee Blackwell, Amanda and (Ariel) Sarmiento; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Sally and (Jimmy) Vaughan of Cumming; brothers and sisters in law, Marcus and (Betty) Garrett of Canton, Walter Dow and (Rita) Garrett of Monroe; brother in law, Wesley Little of Waleska and numerous loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Gilbert, Dr. Rubin Smith and Dr. Jimmy Orr officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5 to 9 pm and on Friday, from 11:00 am until the hour of service.
