Ann G. (Sivacek) Swink (84), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away Tuesday morning, April 12 at her home in Cumming, GA. She is survived by her daughter Michelle Balanzategui, daughter Cynthia Bennett and her husband Rodger Bennett, sister Lois Hoerner, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Michael & Cornelia (Shivers) Sivacek, and grandson Christopher Sorensen.
Born in New London, CT on October 12, 1937 she was raised in CT, AK, and FL. The Sunshine State is where she chose to put down roots. After graduating from Miami High School, she began working for the phone company as a telephone operator, married, and started a family. She built a lifelong career at Bellsouth Communications that allowed her to support her family as a single mother.
Independent, strong, fierce, and funny are just a few words to describe the character of Ann. Her smile was big and warm, her sense of humor was playful and often impish. Oh, but her laugh, her laugh was always infectious.
Many looked to her for guidance, encouragement, and stability. She was only one small yet mighty lady, and somehow, she managed to be exactly what each of us needed individually. The matriarch of our family will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on with each of us.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Ann Swink's honor for family and close friends on May 22nd.
