Marie Ivey

Annie Marie Evans Ivey, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September15, 2024, in Canton, Georgia, at the age of 87. Born on December 22, 1936, she epitomized love and generosity throughout her life, always placing the needs of others before her own.

Marie dedicated over 25 years of her career to the White Oak Learning Center, where she made a lasting impact on the children and families served. Her kind and nurturing spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marie's proudest accomplishments include the time spent with her family, which was her greatest joy. She is survived by her loving daughter, Hilda Ammons (David) of Ball Ground, Georgia, and her cherished grandson, Truitt Ammons, also of Ball Ground, sister-in-law Mazell Evans as well as a host of nieces and nephews. They will carry forward her legacy of kindness and compassion.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 and a half years, Eugene "Bud" Ivey, as well as her parents, John and Clara Bell Evans, siblings, including Leon Evans (Vendetta), Alton Evans (Ellen), Charles Evans, Paul Evans, Dorothy Johnson (Hammond), and Idelle Reed (Alton).

Marie's life will be celebrated with a visitation at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming, Georgia, on September 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens at 12:30 PM, concluding a day of honoring a remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her generosity and love.

Marie Ivey will be dearly missed by all; her memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. A special thank you to the caregivers at Canton Nursing and Inspire Hospice Care.
