Anthony Roy Bud Almassy, age 75, passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2013, in Atlanta, GA.
Bud was born July 20, 1937, in Bridgeport, CT. to his late parents, Anthony and Hilda Almassy. He had an older sister Lois Almassy Fleming of Norwalk, CT. Bud was a graduate of Bassick High School 55 in Bridgeport, CT, received a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University 59, a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, football & lacrosse team. He later earned an MBA from Rutgers University. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1961-1963.

Bud spent the majority of his career in the banking and finance industry, working for Connecticut Bank & Trust and IDS. He was a volunteer fireman in Canton, CT and was a very active coach in his sons youth sports programs. He built a home for his family in Hudson, WI where they resided for 2 years before moving to Flanders, N.J. where he was very active in the West Morris Mendham Sports Booster Programs. In 2001, Bud was a volunteer first responder to support 911 search and rescue efforts. In 2004, he retired in Thailand where he taught English at a local school while traveling throughout Southeast Asia. In 2011, he suffered a stroke and returned to the United States to live out the remainder of his life in Atlanta, GA.

Bud is survived by Sandy Almassy and his three sons - Bret of Atlanta, GA, Cole of Little River, SC, & Dane of Katonah, NY; and his four grandsons, Cooper, Owen, Mason, & Gavin.

He will always be in their hearts & minds on the playing field of life.
The family is planning to hold a private service in Atlanta, GA.
