Aranka "Goldie" Fodor, 87, of Cumming, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021. She was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1934. Following the failed Hungarian Revolution of 1956, she left Hungary with her husband and lived in a Yugoslavian refugee camp for a year before immigrating to the U.S., first settling in California and then Georgia. Goldie was an active member of Orange United Methodist Church in Canton. She held many jobs during her career and started two small businesses -- a restaurant and an electrology practice. She was an active member of the American Electrology Association. Goldie spent much of her time drawing, scrapbooking, coloring, cooking Hungarian dishes for her family, reading the newspaper and watching court TV. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, Ferenc and Maria Mosonyi; husband, Edmond E. Fodor; and daughter, Dianne Kammerer.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Dana Peters; granddaughter, Tahni Segars; son-in-law and his wife, Tom and Debbie Kammerer; and extended family, Sonia and Jeremiah Walker and Jennifer Peters.
A memorial service will be held in her honor. Service details will be forthcoming by the family.
