Austin Michael Kahler

Austin Michael Kahler, 21, passed away in Cumming, GA on August 26, 2014. Born on December 9, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, Austin was dearly loved by his family and friends. Austin was a fiercely loyal friend, whose big heart was evident even as he persevered through many struggles. Family and friends remember fondly all of what made Austin's spirit so special and unique. As a child, Austin's vivid imagination demonstrated to all those who knew him the fun that can be had in any circumstance. We will never forget "LYMPH," "YIYYLE HOUSES," and "BIG BOY PANTS!" As a young man, Austin professed his faith in Christ, and, true to who Austin was, explored his faith with insightful and challenging questions. Austin's expression of his faith was sometimes subtle, but even as he battled difficult times, was always on his mind. Austin excelled as a high school football player at North Forsyth High School, being recognized as the 2010 Lineman of the Year by the North Forsyth Touchdown Club and runner-up for the Region 6-AAAAA Most Outstanding Defensive Player, among many other honors. His outstanding play earned Austin an athletic scholarship to University of West Georgia. Austin loved football and loved his teammates. After injury shortened his collegiate career, Austin channeled his competitive spirit into recreational basketball and softball, and enjoyed the time he spent with childhood friends.Austin's spirit will live on in all of his family and friends, as we remember how much we loved him and how much he loved all of us. While we will miss having Austin here with us, we all take great comfort in knowing that Austin is at peace and with his Daddy again - whole - and perfectly reflecting Christ's love and saving grace.
