Avis Stone Nunez

Avis Stone Nunez, 77, of the Shake Rag Community passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Avis was a fighter and giver, taking care of her sons and others. She had a great heart, loving everyone unconditionally. Avis’s home was always open to everyonewhether for a drink of water, a meal or just friendship.

Survivors include her sons, Garry Jerome (Jonie) Stone, Dennis Grady Baker; grandchildren, Garry James Stone, Hanna Morriah Stone, Ashari Brianca Baker, Savannah Grace McDowell, Yazmin Avery Maxwell, Todd Whitaker, Kristi Whitaker, Kyle Whitaker; nieces and nephews, Connie Stone, Hal Gentry, Sandy Garmon, Donald Butler; as well a many others that called her Momma or Grandmother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Rev. Garry Jerome Stone and Rev. Allen Swafford officiating. Interment will follow at Lower Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
