Barbara Alice Machell

Barbara Alice Machell passed away Jan 22, 2017. She was born on August 23, 1931 in Liverpool England. She earned her RN at London Hospital. In 1961 Barbara emigrated to America with her husband and four children. She was a homemaker until returning to college, then law school in the 1970s. She then practiced law in Spartanburg, and Columbia, South Carolina.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, knitting, and was an exceptional cook and baker. She resided 10 years at Cumming Nursing Center. She is survived by her son Simon Machell (Ann) of Cumming, Georgia, daughter Bridget Machell of West Point, Georgia, daughter Zoe Thompson (Joe) of Flat Rock, North Carolina, son Adam Machell of Austin, Texas, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
