Barbara Catherine "Cathy" Woodyard

Barbara Catherine 'Cathy' Woodyard, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN passed peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She is a native of Parkersburg, WV and a graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School where she was named the Little Kanawha Conference High School Princess. She was born in 1943 to the late Robert and Catherine Whitlatch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Woodyard, her daughter Heidi Flye, her grandchildren Cady and Audrey Flye, and her brother Thomas Whitlatch.

Cathy is survived by her son Ron (Debbie) Woodyard , her daughter Julie (Steve) Powell, her grandchildren Russell (Stephanie) Woodyard, Michael (Jackie) Woodyard, Lauren (Constantine) Daniels, Gracie Jo Powell, Jaxson Powell, her great-grandchildren Taegan Woodyard, Evelyn 'Evie' Woodyard, Marih Robinson, Kyrie Robinson, and her siblings Sheila Lemon, Susan Corbitt James, Jane Sliter, John Whitlatch, Joe Whitlatch, and Dave Whitlatch.

Cathy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was the first to support her family in times of need. She was very involved in supporting her children and grandchildren with their chosen activities. She was a stalwart Tennessee Titans, WVU and Georgia Bulldog fan. Gardening was a passion, as was home decorating and social networking with family and friends.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with a gravesite service to follow at 1:00 PM at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, consider giving generously to Alive Hospice (Nashville, TN) in Cathy's memory. This not-for-profit hospice center and staff provided incredible support and comfort for which the family is eternally grateful.
