Barbara Day

Barbara Day, age 83, of Cumming, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Barbara was an active and dedicated member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. She loved to serve others using her many God given gifts, always showing up with a hot meal or a fresh baked cake. She was a talented seamstress and beautician having run a beauty shop for 20 years. She also served her community as a transportation monitor for the Forsyth County School System for 15 years.

Barbara was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Her pride and joy were her family. She cherished her daughters, her six grandsons and her two great-granddaughters with all her heart. She is preceded in death by her father, Lewis Phillips; mother, Ursel Fagan Phillips; brothers, Johnny Phillips, JW Phillips, Herman Phillips; and sister, Elizabeth Reagan. Mother-in-law and father-in-law Ruby and Collie Day; sister-in-law Gwynell Ingram; brothers-in-law Redge Day and Charles Day.

Barbara's memory will live on through her husband of 65 years, Randall Day; children, Rhonda and Ken Kennedy, Deanna and Dave Reese; grandchildren, Nathan and Brittany Kennedy, Josh Russell, Jake Russell, Ethan and Montana Kennedy, Dalton Kennedy, Jarrett Russell; great-granddaughters Elizabeth Russell and Kendall Kennedy; sisters Louise Pirkle, Joyce and Ralph Perry; brother Charles Phillips; sister-in-law Mary Day and many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Gary Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
