Barbara Gilbert

Barbara Gilbert was born October 11, 1965 and passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on December 8, 2023 at her home. A lifetime resident of Forsyth County,she graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1983. She was also a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. 

She was proceeded in death by her father, Lanier Gilbert and her mother, Frances Hudson and stepfather, D.E. Hudson. 

She is survived by her stepmother, Diane Gilbert; brother Lanny (Sharon) Gilbert of Sandy Springs GA; stepsisters, Bobbie Hudson of Washington GA, Nadine (Tim) Blocksom of Jessup, GA, Kathryn (Mike) Baker of Sebewaing, MI, and Jennifer (Sean) Martin of Cumming, GA; nephews, Drew (Erin) Long and Zach Shirley; and nieces Elizabeth and Grayson Gilbert, and Stacey (Brian) Copeland. 

Barbara was known for being a lover of all animals, her four-legged friends were all special to her.  Whether she was bottle raising livestock (goats!) or spoiling everyone else’s 4-legged companions, all of the animals loved Barbara almost as much as she loved them.

Graveside services for Barbara will be held Monday, January 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
