Barbara S. Ayers -78, of Dacula, Georgia passed away on September 24, 2013. She was born
January 4, 1935.
Today, our entire family is mourning the sudden passing of our beloved "Marga". To her friends and coworkers, she was known as "Bobbie".
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Stevanus and Pauline Gertrude Stevanus, in addition to her brothers Perry Stevanus and Michael Stevanus. Survivors include her loving sons, Andrew "Butch" (Leisa) Ayers of Dacula, GA and Allen (Sunny) Ayers of Grayson, GA, sister Sharon (Robert) Weber of Strandburg, SD, grandchildren Paige Renee, Hope Noelle, Alyssa Anne, Raymond Riley, Daniel Paul, Jennifer Lowry, Jessica Lowry and Dallas Brown, as well as several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Appleton, MN, Barbara graduated from Revillo High School in Revillo, SD. Her career included employment as an administrative assistant in a law office in Hollywood , FL, an administrative assistant for a Crest Realty office in Tucker, GA, and sales coordinator for Komatsu America in both Norcross, GA and Vernon Hills IL. She retired in 1998 and moved to Dacula, GA to be closer to her sons and family. Not content to be out of the workforce, she served in the Records Section of the Gwinnett County Police Department in Lawrenceville, GA, retiring in June 2012 at the age of 77 after eleven years of dedicated service.
Her hobbies included crocheting, reading and gardening. She had a heart of gold and showed unconditional love and compassion for both her immediate and extended family. She possessed an exemplary work ethic and was a great source of inspiration for everyone. One of her greatest joys in later life was doting on her grandchildren.
We all love her and will dearly miss her forever..
