Benjamin "Powell" Turner, age 74, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013. He was a member at Silver City Baptist Church. Powell was a coin collector. He enjoyed buying and selling coins. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed watching football, baseball and Nascar. Powell loved to make people laugh. He retired from Lockeed Martin. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, Toy and Eulene Turner. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Dennis Gravitt of Dawsonville, Gloria and Bill Taylor of Cumming; grandchildren, Wes Gravitt of Dawsonville, Kelsey Gravitt of Dawsonville, Whitney Bennett of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Janet Turner of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Fred Willis of Dahlonega; brother Rex Turner of Roswell; and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 27, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ruel Martin and Rev. Stephen Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:30 P.M. until 9 P.M., Friday from 9 A.M. until the hour of the service.
