Betty Blackwell Bius

Betty Blackwell Bius, 87, of Cumming, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 10, 2021, at The Phoenix at James Creek in Cumming.

Betty, also know as 'Sanma' to her grandchildren, was a beautiful, loving & godly woman who blessed this world with her smile, laugh and unwavering love for others. She and her late husband, Jake Thomas Bius Jr., traveled the world as missionaries to share their knowledge and love for their Lord and savior with others. She loved meeting people and staying in touch over the years with the friends she made all over the world. She also enjoyed reading, attending church, doing crossword puzzles and word searches, and spending time with her family and friends.

Betty was born December 30, 1933, in Fulton County to the late Joseph Blackwell and Helen Joyner Blackwell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Thomas Bius Jr. and daughter, Sandy Bius Waidler.

Survivors include daughter, Laurie Bius Spear of Cumming; sister, Gaye Starr (Marvin) of Cumming, Ga, brother, Paul Blackwell (Susan) of Warner Robins, Ga, grandchildren, Kathy Leigh Spear, J.J. Spear, Michael Waidler and wife Lisa and Jonathan "JC" Waidler; and two great granddaughters, along with many nieces, nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 between 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home. Betty will be buried alongside her late husband and daughter in Rose of Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery in Doerun, Ga with a graveside service for immediate family only.

The family has gained another guardian Angel and is at peace knowing Betty is finally free from all pain and back with her husband and daughter in heaven who she has missed terribly. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. They are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
