Betty Ann Ray

Betty Ann Ray, 86, of Cumming, Georgia (formerly of Young Harris, Georgia) transitioned from this life on June 24, 2020 at Seasons Hospice in Cumming. Born November 26, 1933 in Miami, Florida, she is predeceased in death by her parents, Edward and Anna Mae Jones of Cumming, GA, her late husband, Robert Ray of Jupiter, FL, and her five siblings.

Betty was a homemaker and parent extraordinaire raising her three children in Hialeah, Florida. She and her husband Bob moved to Jupiter, Florida in 1981 enjoying their life as empty nesters. After Bob's passing, Betty moved to Young Harris, GA to be closer to her sisters and brother. She loved living in the mountains, but her ultimate love was her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She never missed a chance to stop a parent and dote on their children. Betty spent her last years as a resident of Towne Club Windermere in Cumming, GA where she established many new friendships.

Betty is survived by her three children, Mary Ann (Garry) Pope of Oakwood, GA, Michael (Debra) Royals of Flagler Beach, FL, and Joseph (Kent) Royals of Roswell, GA. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter, Kristina (James) Stasko of Flagler Beach, FL, grandson, Austin Pope of Oakwood, GA, and great grandson, Kolton Stasko, of Flagler Beach, FL, all of whom she was very proud. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Towne Club Windermere who treated her like royalty from the day she moved in. A special thank you to Cheryl, her adopted granddaughter, and Ezra, her adopted son. She loved you both. The family would also like to thank the nurses and CNA's at Seasons Hospice. You are amazing people and we could not have gotten through without you. A special thank you to Roz and Mark for going above and beyond in treating mom like your own parent. We will be forever grateful.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held at Ingram's Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM. A committal service and interment will follow at Bethlehem Church, 5528 Post Road, Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
