Betty Ann Tart

Betty Ann Tart, age 85 of Hampton, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020. Betty was a faithful servant of Christ throughout her life, serving her family, friends, those in need and many that she didnt even know she was serving. One of her favorite ways to serve was in the life of her children through support of their Christian Schools; through coaching, teaching, working in the kitchen, and driving the bus. She was an active member in her local church, where she faithfully served with her husband Oscar Allen Tart. Betty and Allen raised two daughters in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Betty supported and served alongside her husband for 56 years. Having a servants heart, Betty valued loving her family well as she was a cornerstone for her familys life and faith. She played an active role in the lives of her brother, sister and nephews, provided care for her aging parents, and played a vital role in her grandchildrens lives.

She made many friends throughout her life, from Cumming to Cabbage Town to Decatur and eventually Conyers and Hampton. The friends she made along the way provided many cherished memories that included: playing cards, vacations, church functions, Christmas get-togethers, and many enjoyable dinners of fellowship. Even in her final years her spirit shone through to everyone she encountered.

She is preceded in death by her parents Furman and Dovie Martin, her siblings Virginia and Audrey, and her husband Oscar Allen Tart. She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Ron) Vandermey and Hannah (Scott) Mullins and Grandchildren.

One word to describe Betty is: Servant. She will be missed by many.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00PM Monday, February 17, 2020 at Sawnee View Gardens with Rev. Ron Vandermey Stuart Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the funeral home.

Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040 is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.ingramfuneralhome.com.
