Betty Green Heard

Betty Green Heard, age 74, passed away at home on February 24, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family when she went peacefully to meet her Heavenly Father. She was a lifelong resident of Cumming, Georgia and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.



She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Frank A. Heard.


Betty is survived by her children Joey Heard, David (Nancy) Heard, and Robert (Heather) Heard.



Eight grandchildren were blessed to call her Nanny. They were her joy in life. She spent many hours with them indulging in their every wish.Grandchildren include Chelsie, Sarah, Elizabeth, Abigail and Henry Heard; Presley, Camryn and Jackson Skinner. She was so thrilled to be able to meet her great-granddaughter, Lillian Kate Wilbanks earlier this year.



She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Freddie (Dianne) Green, Gail (Phil) Shewbert and Helen Green and an uncle, Ivan (Buddy) Samples.



Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Chelsie and Ruth Samples Green, and her brother, Kenneth Green.



Several nieces and nephews also survive. Betty never met a stranger and leaves behind a long list of friends as well.


The family will receive visitors onMonday, February 26, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.and onTuesday, February 27, 2018from11:00 a.m.until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 2:00p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Pete Martin, Rev. Scott Sorrells, and Rev. Joey Heard will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.Rev. Truel Martin will preside at the graveside service.
