Betty Jean Downs

On August 3, 2015, Betty Jean Downs, beloved wife of Ronald Bruce Downs for 53 years, passed away peacefully at Northside Hospital in Cumming GA. She is survived by her husband, 4 sons, Bruce (Lisa), Brian (Karen), Bill (Chera) and Bobby (Leslie) and 7 grandchildren Laura, Mason, Kenny, Alex, Casey, Davis and Presley, her sisters Juanita Catron and Nancy Skinner, her brother Wayne Cleveland and many loving nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her brother Robert Cleveland. Betty was born on December 18, 1941 at Georgetown hospital in Washington DC, grew up in Kensington, Maryland and lived in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 1972. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the proud owner and operating manager of the USA Classic Diner in Lilburn during the 1990's. Betty was an avid gardener and, for many years, served as an active member of the Lilburn Women's Club where she was voted club Woman of the Year in 2005-2006.
