Betty M. Godfrey

Betty M. Godfrey, age 84, of Princeton Indiana and formerly of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton. She was born September 26, 1926 in Atlanta, Georgia to James L. and Martha Lee (Pope) McArthur, both deceased. She was also preceded by her husband, Floyd Godfrey in 1989; a brother, James L. McArthur Jr.; and a sister, Lewise Newman. She was a charter member of the White Oak Hills Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. Betty retired from the I.R.S. and also worked for the Georgia State Patrol as a private secretary. She is survived by her children Michael L. (Jan) Godfrey of Cumming, GA., Betty A. Godfrey Hames of Snellville, GA., Catherine (Tim) Darnell of Princeton, IN. and Stephen F. Godfrey of Stone Mountain, GA.; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Womack of Flowery Branch, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at the chapel in Ingram Funeral Home. Interment will follow graveside at Coal Mountain Cemetery in Coal Mountain, GA Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
