Beverly Ann Djeridi-Bartelson, age 56, passed away Friday, June 14th , 2013 at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA. Beverly passed away from complications resulting from a long battle with metastasized breast cancer. Beverly is survived by her husband and love of her life for the past 34 years, Reed Bartelson. She is also survived by her best friend and eldest daughter, Allison and son-in-law Brian Coyle. Additionally, she is survived by her youngest daughter and partner in crime, Jenny. Born April 22nd, 1957 in Providence, Rhode Island to Joan Djeridi and the late Edmund Djeridi, she leaves behind a loving mother that will tell anyone she gave birth to the "most beautiful baby I have ever seen." Beverly has one sibling, Ed Djeridi Jr., whom she shares a quick wit and special bond that only big sisters and little brothers know. She lived her adult life in Central Florida where she attended UCF and NOVA Southeastern University. She received her Masters in Education from NOVA and taught 10 years at Friendship Elementary in Deltona , FL. Voted on by her peers, Beverly was awarded Friendship Elementary Teacher of the Year 2009-2010 for her outstanding achievements as an educator. Many third graders passed through Mrs. Bartelson's third grade class and left knowing their multiplication times table and cursive hand writing. She was actively involved in the West Volusia Runner's Club where she completed numerous 5K's, half-marathons and two full marathons. Her relocation to Cumming was motived by the birth of her grandson, Evan Gerard, who was her Memere', reading buddy, and junk food partner. Evan was constantly reminded that "We don't tell mom what happens at Memere's house... " and no one ever did. Beverly was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer in 2007 and stage four metastasized breast cancer in 2010. Beverly's spirit was not broken by this disease, in fact, the opposite occurred. She found strength and courage she never imagined, and preached, "Do one thing every day that scares you." She felt beautiful inside and out and you couldn't have met a friendlier, more beautiful or more likeable human being. She thought of others first, faced every challenge with humor, and this world was better because she was in it. Beverly is being honored on Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 at the Ingram Funeral Home at 210 Ingram Ave Cumming, GA from 10 am to 12 pm. We ask in lieu of flowers to continue Beverly's passion to find a cure for breast cancer by donating to Allison Coyle or Jenny Bartelson at www.the3day.org so that they may walk in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day in Atlanta. They are walking in her memory this October. Beverly has inspired numerous others with her unwavering courage, and has passed on to Allison and Jenny the knowledge and wisdom that first and foremost "you must always powder your nose" and most importantly, "You can't keep a good woman down." Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
