Beverly Edwin (Eddie) Phillips, age 80, of Cumming, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 following a long battle with prostate cancer. Eddie was a native of Bristol, VA and a graduate of Tennessee High School. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and served in the U.S. Army before beginning what would become a successful 45 year career in the industrial pipe, valve and fitting industry where he rose to be North American Sales Manager. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Beverly Hasting Phillips, Fredrica Diggs Phillips and his beloved grandchild, Ginny Phillips. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Charlotte Starnes Phillips; children, Eddie Phillips, Jeff (Deborah) Phillips, Scott (Debbie) Phillips, Leigh Ann Phillips (David) Hunt; Beloved grandchildren, Scout Phillips, Jessica Phillips (Josh) Morgan, Sam Phillips, Haleigh Phillips (Allen) Funsten, David Aaron Hunt, Avery Hunt; great grandchildren, Wylie Morgan, Jayce Funsten; brother, Steve Phillips of Bluff City, Tennessee and other loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Clegg officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Embracing Hospice of Cumming or Relay for Life, Forsyth County Chapter in Eddie's name.
