William (Bill) England, 71, passed away on October 1, 2018. He was born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Columbus, WI.
Bill was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather and a proud Vietnam Era Veteran. He joined the Air Force right out of high school so he could build a career in computer science. After leaving the Air Force he worked as a programmer in the software industry, eventually moving into sales, where he was a top performer throughout his career. He was an avid slalom and barefoot water skier and eventually moved to Lake Lanier with his wife Susan in 1981 where they lived for over 30 years.
Bill had a great smile and a laid back perspective on life. He helped others when he could, expecting nothing in return. He took joy in teaching others to ski including Ivy Gunter whod lost her leg to cancer, paraplegics from the Shepard Center and anyones child who showed the slightest interest in learning to water ski. Bills active life was cut short in 2014 when he lost his leg to infection, limiting the activities he loved. And although Bills life was short by todays standards, he lived it to the fullest while he was able, creating wonderful memories we will share forever.
Bill is survived by his wife Susan England, his daughters Lynn England, Heather England, Taylor Gordon and her husband Michael Gordon and his grandchildren Grace Alexander, Lila England, and Mikey and Charlie Claire Gordon who he loved to brag about whenever the opportunity presented itself.
