Bill Jarmon, 71, of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Snellville, Georgia and Dora, Alabama passed away on December 15, 2016. Bill was born on August 17, 1945 to Herman and Mamie Jarman. Bill was a graduate of Dora High School and attended business college in Birmingham. Following a love for his country, Bill proudly served in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Regiment. Upon leaving the US Army, he began a 25-year career with Alabama Power & The Southern Company. After retiring from The Southern Company, Bill went to work for the Utility Protection Center where he served for 9 years. Not only did Bill have a love for the military and his country, he took pride in his local community as well and was always finding ways to give back. Bill served as a local polling volunteer and was a graduate of the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy of Forsyth County. He often rode with the local sheriff officers on nightly patrols to offer support. In addition to serving the county by working the polls and riding along with officers, he routinely volunteered at the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. While he liked serving his local community he loved the opportunity to serve his savior Jesus Christ through various ministries. He volunteered for World Changers Ministry where he served alongside students in helping repair homes for families in poor or damaged communities. In addition to serving the Lord at World Changers he was active in his church as a member of the church choir and a greeter on Sunday mornings. A person couldn't pass through his door without receiving a warm smile and a friendly hello as they entered the church. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Bill would agree that his kindness, generosity, and positive personality rubbed off on those around him. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Brenda Jarmon, sister and brother in law Shirley & Jack Brymer, sister in law and brother in law Susan & Johnny Cox, brother in law and sister in law Randy & Lydia Meek, sister in law Aurelia Meek, stepdaughter Sheri Scott Meeler, stepdaughter and son in law Stephanie & Scott Lewis, stepson and daughter in law Steven & Lynn Scott, four grandchildren: Christopher Meeler, Alexander Meeler, Averi Lewis, Kendyl Lewis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
