Billy Lanier Martin

Billy Lanier Martin, age 77, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County and Jot'em Down Road, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. Billy was a member of Salem Baptist Church and worked in the dietary department at N. E. Georgia Medical Center for 27 years. His favorite season was spring so he could work in his flower garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bertie Martin; sisters, infant Ethel Martin, Nellie Lou Anderson, Helen Pendley, Dorothy Walls; brothers, Herbert Martin, Calvin Martin, Ivan Martin, infant Donnie Martin. Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Martin and Sue Martin both of Gainesville; brother-in-law, Harley Walls of Cumming; many nieces, nephews , other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 9th at 3:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Martin and Rev. William Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am until hour of service.
