Bobby (Pops) Myers, age 83, of Cumming, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Bobby was born in Atlanta, GA, in 1934 to the late Robert and Mary Myers. He was an amazing Husband, loving Father, sweet grandfather and a loyal friend. He was a lead man for Nabisco for 35 years. Pops loved to coach football, softball and baseball. He coached football for the Dekalb Yellow Jackets, Rockdale Bulldogs, Rock Chapel Bulldogs, Stockbridge Tigers, and many others. He also coached many baseball and softball teams at Browns Mill Park, Redan Park and Central Dekalb Park. Through the years of coaching Pops made many friends and changed many lives. Many of the children he coached became part of the family not only team mates. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by wife, Jerry Ailene Myers; his sisters, Doris Myers, Connie Kellman, and Martha Myers; brother, Freddy Myers.
Pops is survived by his children, Melvin (Kim) Myers of Covington, GA, Clete Myers of Dawsonville, GA, Steve (Peggy) Sweatman of Hogansville, GA, Matt (Shellie) Myers of Cumming, GA, Bobby (Lisa) Myers of Flowery Branch, GA, Tamara Myers of Dawsonville,GA, and Dana (Jamie) Corr of Ft. Myers, FL; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Myers of Atlanta; brother in law, Bruce Kellman; and many other loving friends and relatives.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Richards officiating. Entombment will follow at Sawnee View Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
