Brandon Joshua Haney was born March 3, 1985, in Blairsville, GA to Shawn Haney and Tommy Wehunt. At the age of three, after the passing of his mother, Brandon came to live with Margean and Dan Haney on the family farm in Cumming GA. Here he grew up with his cousins Daniel and Dylan Addis and Justin, along with his aunt Lisa and uncle Tony and his grandfather Lanier. Brandon spent a lot of his time playing sports, baseball being his true passion. In 2004, he graduated from Mt Pisgah Christian Academy. After a few years of soul searching, Brandon became a Marine in 2009, his proudest accomplishment to date. Brandon was the epitome of a good marine. He touched and changed the lives of many marines throughout the years. He was stationed at Camp Lejuene in NC from 2009 to 2019, where he served as an infantryman in 3/8, as a combat instructor at SOI and a platoon sergeant in 1/2. In 2011,
Brandon reconnected with an old girlfriend, Ashley, and the two were married in April of 2012. In March of 2016, they welcomed their first child, Ryleigh Elizabeth, into the world followed shortly by their son, Grayson James in 2018. The next year, the marine corps took them across the country to Camp Pendleton in California where Brandon served as a RAIDS instructor at 1 EOTG for the 22nd MEU. In 2021, Brandon and Ashley divorced and Brandon re-married. He and his wife Heather had grown up together in Cumming and reconnected in early 2021. Heather moved out to California from Florida in October 2021 and the two were married on November 4, 2021. Although they were only married a short period of time, it was clear to anyone who knew them, that these two were true soulmates. They had two of their own “furbabies” Juicy and Gunner. They shared their love of tattoos, food, dogs and music and were best friends in life and love. One of Brandon’s many goals was to open his own physical therapy practice once he got out of the military. His first accomplishment in achieving that goal was receiving his associates degree in general studies on February 1, 2022. Brandon passed on June 5, 2022, in Savannah GA where he and Heather were to have their official wedding ceremony in front of their closest friends and loved ones.
Brandon is survived by his wife, Heather Haney, his two children Ryleigh and Grayson Haney, his great-grandmother Margean Haney, his Aunt Lisa and Uncle Tony Addis, his grandfather Lanier Haney, his Aunt Sara Cherif, his grandmother Joy Cubellis, and his father Tommy Wehunt.
