Burtis E Smith Jr was born on February 5,1934 to Elmer and Augusta Smith in Farmingdale, Long Island, New York. At the age of 18, he enlisted into the United States Navy where he served for 3 years. Burt is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joan Smith and his 4 daughters Joan C Galasso married to Robert Galasso of St Simons Island, GA, Gail Smith married to Robert Smith of Woodbridge, VA, Susan Waters married to Rick Waters of Suffolk, VA and Robin L Boggs married to Dennis Boggs of Dawsonville, GA. Burtis enjoyed & was proud of his 8 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
