Campbell Cameron

Campbell Cameron, age 87, was born April 16, 1930 in Mayfield, Kentucky to Mildred and Boyd Cameron and grew up in Princeton Kentucky. Campbell graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee in 1949, and went on to graduate from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky with a B.S. degree in math, religion, and industrial arts.

After serving with the US Army during the Korean War, Campbell taught at the Job Corp, Morganfield, Kentucky and served as the assistant city planner in Paducah, Kentucky. He then went back to his first love, teaching. He taught cadets at Castle Heights Military Academy, and served as Commandant of the Junior School. He also led the Lebanon Christian Academy, both of Lebanon, Tennessee.

Campbell was a member of First Redeemer Church, a Kentucky Colonel and a Tennessee Colonel. He was a member of the local American Legion Post 307. He also participated in two missionary trips to Albania with Mighty Shephard Ministries.

Campbell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Vinson Cameron; daughter and son in law, Gigi Cameron (Tom) Tucker of Suwanee, GA; granddaughters Jennifer Tucker (Justin) Tullis of Sugar Hill, GA, Laura Tucker of Roswell, GA; sister, Sharon Cameron Bates of Tampa, FL; nephews, David Cameron (Dana) Bates of West Palm Beach, FL, E.B. (Jami) Vinson of West Pueblo, CO and John Vinson of Princeton, KY.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at the funeral home from 11 to 2.

Funeral services for Campbell will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 2;00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Thompson and Rev. Mike Schmid officiating. Pallbearers are David Bates, Justin Tullis, Brandon Heidmann, Nicholas Heidmann, Hugh Williams and Cody Nygun. Honorary Pallbearers are, John Arant, David McElhannon, Dallas Stitham, Charles Watson, former cadets of CHMA and students of LCA. A Committal Service will be held at Georgia National` Cemetery on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mighty Shephard Ministries (MSM) Indian Orphanage, 1610 Redi Road, Cumming, GA 30040
