Carl Joseph Kaloustian, age 96 , of Woodstock, GA passed away January 17, 2021.
The family of Carl Joseph Kaloustian is saddened to announce his passing on January 17, 2021, following a brief illness, at the venerated age of 96. Carl was born on May 13, 1924 in Boston to Florence Kaloustian (née Beaton, born in MA) and Karl Kaloustian (born in Harpoot, Turkey). Carl joined the U.S. Army at age 18 in 1942; he was assigned to the Army's Air Force 42nd Air Base Wing through the end of the war. Following his discharge in 1946, he attended Northeastern University, where he earned a degree in civil engineering. Proud of his Armenian heritage, Carl was also a lifelong lover of music: he not only delighted in listening to jazz (especially swing), he played various instruments but took a particular liking to the vibraphone, a choice that personified his unconventional style. He lived the majority of his life in Brighton, MA and spent his later years in Berlin, MD near the ocean. He is survived by his sister Martha Jennings; his ex-wife Muriel Kaloustian; his children Dianne Brite and her husband Steve, Curt Kaloustian and his wife Jill, and Lara Adams and her husband Jeff; grandchildren Daniel Brite, Nicholas Brite, Katie Lopez and her husband Rob, and Dakota Kaloustian; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Antognoni and Florence Wallace; his ex-wife Joyce Grasso; and his grandson Dustin Brite.
