Carol Pehrson Adams, 84, of Cumming passed away after a long illness on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 23, 1940, Carol was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
On December 19, 1963, Carol married the love of her life, Jerry Adams. and together they built a loving home and family. A dedicated homemaker, Carol poured her heart into her family and her home, nurturing her loved ones with warmth and care. She spent countless hours tending to her garden, canning, quilting, and sewing, creating lasting memories and treasures for those she loved. She enjoyed making quilts for her family and others and always made sure new babies in the family had a quilt, for as long as she was able.
In 1997, Carol was widowed, but she continued to live out her dedication and devotion to her family. For the next 28 years, she selflessly cared for her children and grandchildren, living with each child’s family in turn and ensuring that her presence was always a source of love and joy. Carol enjoyed music, and especially loved the song "Sunrise Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof. She often said that the passage of time was precious and cherished every moment with those she loved. She loved to sing, laugh, and share her joy with others. Her infectious happiness was a bright ray of sunshine in the lives of everyone around her.
Carol’s spirit was one of happiness, positivity, and unwavering gratitude, even during times of illness and adversity. She had an infectious ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved, no matter the occasion. Known for her competitive nature, she thoroughly enjoyed playing games with family and friends, always bringing an extra spark to every gathering.
The last of 12 siblings, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Adams, a daughter, Krista Adams and her parents, Alexander Joel Pehrson and Marinda Grant Hatch Pehrson.
She is survived by her children Cheryl and Truman Hall, Sean and Jewel Adams, Kevin and Nancy Adams and Nikol Smalley; 18 grandchildren, B.J., T.J., Seante’, Ashley, Darien, Daniel, Bailey, Nikolas, Brenna, Dallin, Macy, Michael, Anthony, Adri, Krista, Chelsea, Austin and Kylie and 29 great grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love, kindness, and the importance of family. Carol was loved by everyone she came in contact with and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her joyful presence, loving heart, and the care she gave to others will never be forgotten.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
