Carol Bardgett (nee Grimes), passed away peacefully at Celebration Village, Cumming, GA, on October 2, 2022, at the age of 85. Carol was born to Helen and John Grimes on July 17, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri. Carol was preceeded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard (Dick) Bardgett, her oldest daughter, Denise Fleck, and her brother, Jack Grimes. Carol is survived by four children; Debbie (Kevin) Tully, Dan (Patty) Bardgett, Diane (Eric) Kelley, Donna (Mike) Rivers, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Diane Grimes, and two nephews.
Carol loved her family immensely and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her so much joy. She loved joking and being silly with the grandkids whenever they got together and Carol loved attending as many of the grandkids’ activities as possible. Carol was very social, loved to laugh and to make others laugh. She enjoyed traveling over the years, enjoyed her work and volunteer positions, playing games such as dominos and bingo, and was an avid tennis and golf enthusiast. Carol loved her dogs, each one providing companionship and comfort over the years. Wherever her husband’s career moves took them around the country, Carol made many lifelong friends. Carol was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, loyal friend and a very kind soul.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 11045 Parsons Rd, Duluth, GA 30097, on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10:30am. Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, GA is assisting with arrangements. A second memorial will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, at a later date.
