Carolyn Holbrook Pair

Carolyn Holbrook Pair, age 85, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Carolyn was born in Atlanta to the late Rev. A.C. Holbrook, Sr. and Sallie Eugenia Neill Holbrook. Many people have said Carolyn was the sweetest person they had ever met; she loved her family and friends and loved entertaining. She worked for the Georgia Baptist Home Mission Board, taught kindergarten at Ducktown School and retired from the Social Security Administration. Carolyn was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and was active in the Cumming Garden Club where she was Past President. She was also Past President of the Cumminettes and a life-long active church member and a founding member of Cumming Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Henry T. Pair, Jr. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and George Henry of Powder Springs; a son, Vann Henry Pair of Cumming; a sister, Angie Chapman of Conyers and 2 brothers, Paul Holbrook of San Diego, CA and Dr. A.C. (Buddy) Holbrook of Augusta. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cumming Baptist Church with Dr. Barry Crocker and Dr. A.C. Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Friday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Flowers are appreciated or you may make donations to the Cumming Baptist Church Building Fund, 115 Church St., Cumming, GA 30040.
