Carrie Belle Martin

Carrie Belle Martin (Townsend), age 74, died on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Georgia. Carrie was born on August 17th 1941 , in Forsyth County, Georgia. Carrie was one of 8 children born to John Jefferson Townsend and Lenora Kathleen Townsend. Carrie and her husband Hullitte Martin were married on April 1, 1961. Carrie was a loving mother and wife and dedicated Christian. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, her husband Hullitte Martin and her first born son Joe Hullitte Martin. She is survived by her children, Carrie Hill (Wayne Hill), Beverley Reeves (Bryan Reeves), Michael Martin (Tammy Martin), William Martin (Shirley Martin), Hope Spence (Sam Spence), Jeremiah Martin (Barbara Martin), and Davis Martin; her grandchildren, Shawna Cotton, Tabitha Brown, Brandi Breedlove, Candi Deyton, Emily Gobart, Benjamin Reeves, Malachi Reeves, Brittany Martin, Corrie Anne Martin, Jonathan Martin, Faith Martin, Halie Martin, Jacob Martin, Eric Bradley, Eli Bradley, Michael Greer, Victoria Greer, Samuel Spence, Elijah Spence Elizabeth Spence, Justin Martin, Paige Martin, Amanda Martin, Gregory Martin, Blake Martin; and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Bridgeman, Rev. Scott Smith and Rev. Bryan Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
