Carroll Austin Floyd, age 89 born December 11, 1924, of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, November 27th, 2014. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was known for his sense of humor and his modesty. Carroll was a lifelong chicken and cattle farmer, loved to travel, do gardening and wood working. He loved his family, his Church and his community and always loved to laugh and pull jokes on his friends. He was a veteran of World War II, stationed in Italy. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mozelle Pendley Floyd of Gainesville, children, Elaine and Arthur Wright of Dahlonega, Nolan and Hazel Floyd of Cumming, Lavonda and Michael Hill of Cumming; grandchildren, Devin Wright, Darron Wright, Dustin Wright, Nick Hill, Lisa Waters, Jared Floyd, Nalanna Floyd; 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 30th at 2:30 pm at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Martin and Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am until hour of the service. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
