Catherine B. Bathgate

Mrs. Catherine Bathgate of Sandy Springs and Johns Creek, Georgia died August 22, 2023 after a brief illness. Mrs. Bathgate was born in Gallatin, Tennessee, one of nine children. Her parents were Kate Simpson Baker and Charles Winfield Baker.

During the Korean conflict, Mrs. Bathgate served in the Women's Army Corps. In 1950 she married Frank R. Bathgate, Sr. They were married for thirty-eight years, and had three children. Mrs. Bathgate was always active in her church, and was a kind and caring mother and grandmother. She was a tiny woman with a huge, loving spirit.

Mrs. Bathgate was preceded in death by all of her siblings, her husband and two children, Frank Bathgate Jr. (2020) and Jan Caley (2006.) She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Lewandowski (Frank,) and three granddaughters, Sandy Gaither (Scott,) Ginger Tranter (Steve,) and Becky Knighton.

She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Lenzi Gaither and Lucas Tranter, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be on September 9, 2023 at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church In Sandy Springs, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church.
