Charles Clifton Curry, III (Charlie), 89 from Tucker, Georgia and formerly from Atlanta, died peacefully on April 24, 2016 at PruittHealth Rehabilitation facility. At the time of his death his mind and spirit were that of a young man. His body, however, had become frail and his heart could not keep up with his desire to come home and take care of his wife. Born April 18, 1927 in Atlanta, Georgia, he attended Boys High and at age 17, chose to serve his country by joining the Navy. After his time in the service he returned to Atlanta working for Georgia Power and after several years, settled down in the Candler Park area and started a family. Throughout Charlie's life the one constant was his faith in God and his church. He actively participated in the choir, taught Sunday School and was involved in all aspects of the church. He was extremely well versed in the Bible and had a fascination with eschatology. Charlie loved to play cards and pool with his friends. He often could be seen working a crossword puzzle or playing Sudoku. He loved watching and mimicking the sounds of birds while sitting on the porch with beloved Betty. Charlie's legacy as a man is defined by his sweet, kind, genuine interest in others. He always has a smile on his face and stayed positive even in difficult times. He was not afraid to die because he knew what was waiting for him in heaven. He is survived by his wife Betty Curry, a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark Konrad; a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Angel Curry; and two granddaughters, Emily Konrad and Alyson Curry. Charlie's ashes will be scattered at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Friday, April 29th, at 9:30 a.m. A celebration of his life will be held later at Tucker First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the American Heart Association. Service DetailsFriday, April 29th, 2016, 9:30am, Georgia National Cemetery
