Charles Edward Stapler, age 86, has gone to Heaven. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was fondly known around town as Ed, Junior, and most importantly, PaPa.
He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 66 years, Louise Stapler; daughters, June (Chris) D'Andrea, Peggy Echols, Kathy (Mike) Landrum, Vonda (Brian) Mauldin, Mandy (Greg) Brannon; grandchildren, Kristen (Warren) Brooks, Laura D'Andrea, Lindsay (Chris) Mattison, Michael Echols, Katrina (Josh) Maust, Kayla (Stephen) Robertson, Rachel Mauldin, Heather (Barry) Dalton, Haley Brannon; great grandchildren, Bella and Cooper Brooks, CJ, Cameron, and Devyn Mattison, Dawson Maust, Addy Robertson, Hudson and Hayden Dalton, and Keaton Lloyd; 3 brothers; 3 sisters, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He worked in construction for most of his life, except for a few years when he worked for Byers Furniture. His handiwork is on hundreds of houses and offices in Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Buckhead, Big Canoe, Dahlonega, and Atlanta. He liked to be outside working in his vegetable garden and loved teaching his grandchildren and great grandchildren how to play checkers and work in the yard.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from the hours of 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
