Charles R. Roden Sr

Charles R. Roden, Sr., age 79, of Cumming, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015. Charles was born November 17, 1935 to James and Docia Roden. He went on to retire after 27 years as a Chief Warrant Officer-4 from the United States Marine Corps. He later became an educator with the Forsyth County School system. Charles is preceded in death by his son, Charles R. Roden, Jr.; daughter, Angelina Roden and his parents, James and Docia Roden. Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Mauldin Roden; daughter, Vanessa (Mark) Powell; son, Richard (Tongi) Roden; daughter, Veleda L. Roden (Jr) Pressley; grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers a sister, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Bridgeman officiating. Interment will follow at Longstreet Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
