Cherie D’Ann Corley

Our beloved Aunt, Sister, Friend, and confidant; Cherie D’Ann Corley left us to be with her late Husband Ron on December 30, 2023 at the age of 63. She was a beautiful beam of light gifted to such a dark world by God himself to help brighten other lives, far and wide, with unconditional love, belly cramping laughter, unwavering perseverance, and spreading the Gospel. She was loved, adored, and respected by a multitude of people from all walks of life. She was also well known and respected by so many in the special needs community where she lived in Dawsonville, GA. She endured many hardships and struggles when she first became the Guardian for her nephew Allen Pennington. But because of the determination she possessed to improve the long-term quality of Allen’s life, she learned, read, asked questions and probably at sometimes even pestered individuals and organizations to retrieve and acquire the information and channels she needed to better care for Allen. She then continued to help others around her in the special needs community that were just as lost as her in the beginning to create the network and support group that is so desperately needed in this type of life and these precious children. She was a trailblazer and pioneer for the people who truly had no idea what to do, where to go or who to turn to for help. Cherie, for lack of better terms that do not exist in this language, was a beautifully inspirational soul that will be missed beyond comprehension.

She left behind her loving nephew Roger “Allen” Pennington Jr., two grieving Sisters, a Niece and Nephew, three great nieces and one great nephew, her Father-in-law Don Corely and all the people that she guided and helped along the way.
