Cherie Mae Middaugh Pauley, age 82, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Charleston, WV, passed away May 26, 2016 following a brief illness. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, the only daughter of Scott Layton Middaugh and Mae Hansen Middaugh, Cherie was an avid swimmer, with a passion for genealogy, music, travel and participating in social community groups. She had a Master's Degree in Home Economics from the University of Utah. She taught school and volunteered in the community and her church. Her favorite title was "Grandma." Cherie is preceded in death by her brothers, LeRoy and Dale Middaugh. Cherie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald Clarence Pauley of Cumming, GA; five daughters, Lynn Pauley of Sumter, SC, Donna (Daniel) Fairbanks of Orem, Utah, Brenda (David) Yates of Johns Creek, GA, Dee (John) Foster of Cumming, GA, and Carol (Chan) Gregory Reeves of Suwanee, GA; 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, at 12:00 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3185 Dahlonega Highway, Cumming, GA with Bishop Andrew Jeppsen officiating. Interment will be later at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family History/Family Search at www.ldsphilanthropies.org to support Cherie's passion for genealogy.
