Christine F. Bowman

Christine F. Bowman, age 88, of Cumming, GA passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014. Born March 26, 1926 in Mooresville, NC, Chris had lived in Cumming since 2007, moving here from Orlando, FL where she was a long-time resident. Very passionate about people, Chris was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, John Bowman; sons, John L. Bowman, Jr. and Jeffrey L. Bowman, all of Cumming; grandchildren Serena C. Bowman of Daytona Beach, FL and Steven Bowman of Clermont, FL; great grandchildren, Emily Sherman and Zachary Sherman, both of Daytona Beach; brothers, Rufus John Follette and his wife, Virginia, of Clemmons, NC, Henry Follette and his wife Dixie of Salisbury, NC. a sister, Rosetta Foust of Morganton, NC and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Requiem Mass will be held Thursday, May 8, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columba's Episcopal Church, 939 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 30024, with The Rev. Fr. Tripp Norris as Celebrant. The family will receive friends at a reception following the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Columba's Episcopal Church.
