Cort Swanson, beloved husband, brother, father, father-in-law, Jefe, son, son-in-law, nephew, cousin, neighbor, mentor and friend, passed away on November 22, 2018. Born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana, he earned a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from LSU and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He spent much of his post-graduate life in the Atlanta suburbs working in IT, both on the corporate side and as a consultant. As they were growing up, his children found his real line of work incredibly boring, so he told them his job was to put the big wheels on tractors. He was dependable, funny, hard-working, and so wonderfully good.
It would be a disservice to his memory to not mention his other accolades. In addition to the above, he was an:
Investor in Human Capital
7-time passer of 5th grade
World class six-and-under soccer coach
Emotional support human
Chief Engineer of Team Bubbler
Sharks and Minnows superstar
Serial purchaser of girly cars
Paddle board enthusiast
At least 62% Diet Coke
Dependable family man
And a proud medium-sized shirt wearer
He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) at www.tacanow.org.
Dress code for his funeral service will be business casual. Cort would not want to look out at a sea of mourners wearing black!
