Craig Johnston, 61, of Gainesville GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27th 2016, with his loving family at his side. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday December 30th at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040. A Private Service will be held on Saturday December 31st after which Craig will be laid to rest at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming. Craig was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 10th 1955. He had a Masters Degree in Program Management. Craig's career started by loading tapes in the data center, climbing microwave towers and laying cable in outside plant and he worked his way to Management, Senior Management and before retirement Senior Program Director of Telecommunication Networks working for Western Electric, AT and Lucent Technologies. His work took him and his wife to many countries including Peru, Brazil, Honduras, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. He retired in 2001. In retirement Craig loved creating delectable culinary creations for the enjoyment of his family and friends, working in the yard, boating and all in all enjoying life. Craig is survived by his wife, Parisa Johnston; son, Craig Jay Johnston Jr.; daughter, Jamie Lynn Bingham, son-in-law Michael Bingham; 7 grandchildren, Caleigh, Connor, Wyatt, Emily, Gunner, Adelia, Cannon; and two four-legged children, Cooper and Dusty. He was preceded in death by his parents Jean and Charles. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
