The Lord our Savior called Daniel Harp home on October 5, 2020, leaving his parents Candice and Steve Harp; siblings Stephen, Robert, Courtney, and Shelby; and his beloved nieces and nephew. His extended family members are too numerous to list by name, but they too will be sharing in grief.
Daniel's life was a miracle from the beginning. When Daniel was born 15 weeks early, he weighed a mere 1.1 lbs. and given less than 5% chance of surviving 5 days. Even if he survived past Day 5, he had high odds of being blind, deaf, or having cerebral palsy. Clearly, God had special plans for Daniel's life, and he exceeded our expectations - beginning at Day 5.
Daniel attended Camp Creek Elementary School in Gwinnett before moving to Cumming in 2007; he graduated from North Forsyth High School in 2014.
Daniel touched the lives of many people, and they not only loved and cared for him, they also benefitted from knowing him. His heart for children was always tender, loving, and protective, and children brought out the playfulness in him even after he became an adult. Similarly, his coworkers at Walmart in Dawsonville drew him out of his shyness, and his life was made much richer by their friendship over the last 4 years.
While his family already misses him terribly, we are also humbled and feel blessed to have known and loved him. Instead of 5 days of life, God gave us 25 years, and we are comforted knowing Daniel is in Heaven awaiting our arrival.
