Darcy McIntosh Tate
Darcy passed away Sunday April 6th, 2025, in her sleep after battling Degenerative brain and heart disease.
Darcy was born October 24th, 1959, to Mary Jean Smith and Robroy Bruce McIntosh at the Shirley U.S Army hospital in Shirley MA. She was raised with 6 brothers and sisters as Air Force brats.
Darcy attended multiple primary schools across the US. She went on to get an associate’s degree in business accounting at Lanier Technical College in Cumming Ga.
Darcy loved arts of every kind. She took an interest in poetry and writing. Darcy became a published poet with the National Library of Poetry in the book The Scenic Route. The poem is named Little One.
She enjoyed live music, antiquing, cooking, and gardening. She was a master of trivia and the queen of all card games.
Darcy set roots in Cumming Ga. She married Larry Tate in Dawsonville Ga. in 1984. They enjoyed 38 years of marriage. Darcy is survived by Sons and their spouses, Bruce Tate and Felicia Bentley, Sam & Tara Tate. Stepsons and spouses Daryl Tate, Brian, & Angie Tate, two sister Hilary McIntosh, Kara McIntosh Sylve, two brothers Robert McIntosh, Gunn McIntosh, 9 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all who loved her.
The family will receive friends Thursday April 10th from 9:00am-5:00pm at Ingrams Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be led by pastor Clark Watson in the chapel of Roanoke Baptist Church on Friday April 11th at 10:00am.
