Darla Fay Haymore Menden died peacefully at home on Nov. 1, 2022. Fay was born March 13, 1936 in Prescott, Arizona, the second of fourteen children born to Douglas Scott and Hortense Nebeker Haymore. Fay was a hard worker, starting to work and driving a milk truck at age eleven for the Haymore Dairy. She graduated from Prescott High in 1955, and then attended Brigham Young University. She married George Bertram Menden in 1956 and they were married for 55 years before his passing on September 27, 2011. Fay was a loving and devoted wife and mother to George Douglas (Laurie Segbers) Roswell, GA; Darla Jean (David M. Brooks) Canton, GA; Daphne Lea (Daniel Dennis) Albuquerque, NM; Craig Arthur (Beth Morris) San Clemente, CA; and Marc Bertram (Michelle Ward) Gilbert, AZ. She is survived by 12 Haymore siblings, all five of her children, 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Fay’s interests included baking (she was a cherry pie baking contest winner), sewing, gardening, upholstery, and furniture refinishing. Her love for swimming, dancing, tennis, and family were shared with all who knew her. George and Fay enjoyed international travel to South Africa, Portugal, France, England, Thailand, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Brazil. They resided in Tucson, AZ; Montebello, Boron and Menlo Park, CA; Summit, NJ; Mesa, AZ; and Roswell, GA.
Fay was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ.
